Understanding and Addressing Hair Loss
Hair loss can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to define you. At Pollock Clinics, we start with an in-depth conversation about your hair loss to understand your condition and explore personalized treatment options that fit your goals.
Our Hair Aesthetics Program offers a comprehensive approach to male pattern baldness, thinning hair, and patchy beard growth.
Using clinically advanced PRP therapy, we stimulate hair growth to create a fuller, healthier look—without surgery or significant downtime. In addition to PRP, we explore innovative options like scalp Botox (currently in trial), hair care products, supplements, and FDA-approved low-level laser cap therapy to provide well-rounded solutions.
Our goal is simple: deliver effective, science-backed treatments that work with your body’s natural processes to help you feel and look your best. Take the next step towards regaining your confidence with our Hair Aesthetics Program—where expertise meets personalized care.
What is PRP and Is It Right for Me?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a natural and effective way to stimulate hair growth by harnessing the healing power of your own body.
A small sample of your blood is taken and placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets—your body’s natural healers, rich in growth factors and signaling molecules—from the rest of your blood. These platelets are then concentrated in plasma, the nutrient-dense component of your blood. This concentrated solution is carefully injected into areas of the scalp or beard where thinning or patchiness is a concern.
The growth factors in PRP help to awaken dormant hair follicles, boost blood flow, and encourage the growth of new, thicker hair. This non-surgical procedure is a great option for those looking for a more natural and drug free approach to hair restoration without the need for downtime.

Hair-Specific FAQs
Does it hurt?
Our treatment protocol ensures your comfort is our top priority. To minimize or eliminate the discomfort associated with PRP injections, we offer local anesthetic injections. These are administered quickly and may cause temporary, mild discomfort lasting just a few seconds to a minute. Once the anesthetic takes effect, the entire scalp is numbed, allowing us to deliver PRP at the optimal depth, concentration, and frequency for the best results. After the anesthetic takes effect, any discomfort is typically eliminated, ensuring a smooth and comfortable treatment experience.
How long is the recovery time?
Recovery for Scalp PRP and Beard PRP is minimal:
- Mild tenderness around the injection sites may last for 2-3 days.
- Most patients can resume their regular activities on the same day as their treatment. However, to minimize infection risk and allow the scalp to heal, we recommend avoiding activities like swimming, saunas, and strenuous exercise for the first few days after the procedure. Following these guidelines helps ensure optimal healing and results.
- To promote optimal healing, keep the treated area clean and avoid hair dyes and topical products for 2-7 days after your procedure. Following these guidelines will help ensure the best possible results.
How many sessions will I need?
The majority of patients will require a minimum of 4 treatments to achieve a visible response. During your consultation, we’ll assess your specific hair growth goals and customize a treatment plan to maximize your results.
Scalp PRP: Our standard recommendation involves 4 treatments, spaced every two weeks over 2 months. Maintenance sessions may be advised every 4-6 months, depending on your progress.
Beard PRP: We commonly recommend 4 sessions (1 month apart) to deliver the best results. Patients often start seeing improvements even after 2 sessions. For ongoing growth, maintenance treatments may be recommended.
When will I see results?
Scalp PRP: Many patients begin to notice early signs of improvement around 2-3 months after the first session. This can include reduced hair shedding and small sprouts of new growth. Progress continues over the course of treatment, with fuller results developing over the course of 4-6 months.
Beard PRP: Those aiming to enhance beard thickness or fill in patchy areas typically see improvements within 2 months of starting treatment. Fuller, even growth often emerges as you complete the recommended sessions.
What are the risks or side effects?
PRP treatments are generally very safe, and there are no known long-term complications or risks associated with the procedure. Common side effects include mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites. Rare but potential risks may include minor infection or irritation, especially if aftercare instructions aren’t followed. Our team will provide you with all the information you need to minimize risks and maximize your results, and we are available to speak with you anytime if you have questions regarding your treatment.
How much does it cost?
The pricing for PRP therapy depends on the number of sessions and the specific areas being treated:
Scalp PRP: $4,000 for a package of 4 treatments (or $1,200 for a single session).
Beard PRP: $4,000 for 4 treatments (or $1,200 per individual session).
If you're interested in a customized pricing plan which combines our hair treatments with facial aesthetic options, please visit our Pricing Page or book a consultation with our team to discuss your goals and learn more.
Do I need to take time off work after treatment?
No, most patients can return to work immediately after their Scalp or Beard PRP sessions. The minor redness at the injection site usually fades quickly.
Am I a good candidate for PRP?
PRP is ideal for those in the early stages of hair thinning or patchiness and for individuals looking for a non-surgical option to stimulate growth. Our experts evaluate your hair restoration goals during your consultation to evaluate if PRP is the right choice for you.
