Dr. Neil Pollock is the largest provider of vasectomy in BC since 2003, according to MSP of B.C. He personally performs approximately 2/3 of all the vasectomies done annually in the lower mainland. Dr. Pollock’s years of experience practicing and researching vasectomy, have helped him to pioneer what has come to be known across North America as "The Pollock Technique" for vasectomy; No-Scalpel No-Needle No-Metal Clips Open-ended Vasectomy.
Dr. Pollock is a Clinical Instructor for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He has been asked to teach his technique for vasectomy to physicians throughout the world. Dr. Pollock was a trainer for the AVSC (Access to Voluntary and Safe Contraception), the organization which is now called Engender Health, that brought NSV to North America. He frequently lectures on NSV as an invited guest at many hospitals and conferences in the Greater Vancouver area and throughout the world.
Numerous articles have been written about Dr. Pollock in both local and national, medical and non-medical publications. His commentaries and original research in his various areas of interest have also been published in national and international medical publications. In addition, Dr. Pollock has made appearances on local and national news shows including W5, one of Canada's premier investigative television shows.
In addition, Dr. Pollock was approved by the Canadian Health Protection Branch to be the principal investigator in Canada for a study using the Intra Vas Device (IVD). The IVD was designed to be an implantable and reversible contraceptive device for men and is in preliminary stages of testing.

In 2004 Dr. Pollock was one of the two Canadian physicians (Dr. Michel Labrecque at Laval University being the other) to participate in "Expert Consultation in Vasectomy" which took place in Washington, DC. Physicians and researchers considered to be national and international experts in the field of vasectomy and contraceptive health were invited to this meeting to evaluate current research and collaborate on a consensus statement. The statement was comprised of new and important research findings that could then be distributed to various medical communities around the world.In 2008, Dr. Pollock was asked to showcase his world-renowned surgical techniques and to teach the leading surgeons in Rwanda. In 2011 Dr. Pollock visited China and became the first Canadian physician to get certified in a new innovative technique for adult circumcision (developed by Chinese surgeons in China), Dr. Pollock was asked by his colleagues in China to lecture and share the surgical techniques that he developed through his 20 years of experience.
